New Mexico State University Graduate Studies in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Mexico State University anticipates positions to be open in our Master’s and Ph.D. programs for Fall 2023. Our department offers TAs at both the Master’s and Ph.D. level valued at approximately $20,000 per year. We also have a major Kist Foundation grant that allows us to support a limited number of Kist Fellows and various educational initiatives. Our department has strong research groups in Algebra, Applied Analysis, Foundations, and Probability and Statistics https://math.nmsu.edu The local area is a beautiful mix of Spanish and US cultures, a desert/mountain climate, and a relatively low cost of living. Applications can be submitted at https://gradschool.nmsu.edu and we begin reviewing applications in early January. It is okay if an application is not 100% complete by then, but it is encouraged for there to be enough for us to get a good idea. Please contact our Graduate Secretary Paloma Pavao pavao@nmsu.edu with any questions.
