Nuclear Test Engineering is responsible for the maintenance and operation of several different types of equipment used in a manufacturing process located at the Bettis Atomic Laboratory. The Associate Electrical Engineer is expected to gain technical proficiency and familiarity in the fields of instrumentation and control, data acquisition, and control software programming necessary to operate furnaces, vacuum systems and variety of other manufacturing equipment. The candidate will trouble shoot, develop repair procedures, maintain configuration control, prepare operating procedures and drawings, and work with outside vendors to fulfill service contract requirements. Additionally, the candidate will work with other team members to research, design, develop, procure and deploy new complex integrated control systems and equipment used for general and specialized systems. Procurement of equipment will require planning, designing, reviewing submittals and designs, participating in acceptance testing and overseeing the installation.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering or science related field; or a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering or science related field
Preferred Sills:
- Ability to program in function block language and ladder logic control software.
- Familiar with HMI or control station software and PLC programming
- A general understanding of pressure systems, Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) loops, Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCR) functionality and vacuum systems.
